Mary is a happily married woman and mother to her darling son Lawrence. Unfortunately due to an electromagnetic field she passed through while riding the Hullabaloo at an amusement park, she is invisible to Lawrence and all people younger than teenagers. She is also invisible to everyone when she is in a sealed environment with a child. So when she drives Lawrence somewhere it appears to the world as if no one is driving the car.
